lucky winner giveaway

I have been a lucky winner not once, not twice, but THREE times in the last month.

FIRST, I was honored to win issue no. 2 of Daisy Yellow's st/ART ezine.  Ok, we already know how much I love Tammy, creative host and leader of the Index Card a Day challenges, and 21 secrets instructor.  But MAN oh MAN this is a great little zine.  8 gorgeous pages of inspiration in the form of prompts, sparks, quotes, reflections, assignments and thought provoking questions.  Here's a peek, but you need to go to her website and check it out for yourself.

Then, about a week later, the multi-talented Lee at Defining Me offered a giveway on her blog to the first person to leave a comment.  Lucky me - I won this gorgeous postcard.  I love Lee's work, and am totally inspired by her use of white gel pen to highlight and define.  You can see the steps on how this card was made by clicking here.

And then there was the "ArtSparks Hot! Hot! Hot! summer giveaway" in which each of ten incredible artists each had a giveway on their blog for ten consecutive days in August. Naturally, I entered a comment on each blog on the appropriate day.  But so did hundreds of other people.   I didn't expect to win.

But THEN, I got an email from the amazing Jill Berry that I had won her giveaway!  I won SEVEN (count 'em, seven) issues of somerset magazine (all featuring Jill's work)  AND I won a gorgeous journal handmade by Jill.  I've been rushing to the post office every day in eager anticipation of this package and today was the day!  I couldn't wait to get home, I had to open the package in the car in the parking lot of the post office.  I was expecting just the journal she had shown on her website, so imagine  my surprise when I opened the package and found all THIS:

There was much squealing and hand-clapping as I pulled one treasure after another out of the envelope.

Here's the journal I knew I had won:

It's about 6"x8" and filled with lovely blank watercolor paper.

Here's the most amazing "bonus journal".  It is truly a work of art through and through.  It also measures about 6"x8" and it's filled with Jill's gorgeous hand-painted pages and it has the most amazing binding.  It feels way too beautiful to actually use as a journal, but I'm also trying to get over the mentality that beautiful things must be hidden away behind locked doors so that they don't get ruined.  If you can't use and enjoy something beautiful, why own it?

Kitty Jake couldn't stop rubbing his cheeks on it.  That black mass in the upper left corner is his head.

And then there's this little tiny book.  It's about the size of an artist trading card and is filled with illustrated memories of childhood Halloween.  Beautifully designed and written, and packaged in a tiny treat bag.  How awesome is that?

See all the good that can come from commenting on other people's blogs?  Good thing I have adopted my "no lurking" policy this year.

So in honor of my lucky streak, I'm having my first-ever giveaway!

YES! A GIVEAWAY!
Last month I created my first zine for an on-line swap.  The theme was "Do Something New" and we had all of July and August to try 30 new things and then create a 30 page zine about our experiences. I've sent the first 3 reprints to my swappers, and no. 4 can be YOURS!
Here's a sneak preview:

All you have to do is leave me a comment and make sure you include your email so I can contact you if you win.  I will randomly select the winner on Monday September 12.  Let the comments begin!
